Hi! I'm Henry Anyimadu, a Business and Computer Science student at WashU. I combine my technical skills with my storytelling passion to...
ENHANCE HUMAN CONNECTION
TELL UNTOLD STORIES
UNDERSTAND OUR UNIVERSE
Growing up as the son of Ghanaian immigrants, I have an innate fascination for stories. They've allowed me to connect my American midwest upbringing with a world an ocean away. I've found a true passion in using my technical knowledge to build stories, from analyzing NASA mission data to building software to enhance student life at WashU as a Business and Computer Science student.

I am currently the Co-Founder and Head of Marketing at Social Fabric, where I lead a team building software that facilitates finding people, places, and events that match your interests, helping you create your next story.

Previously, I was a Data Analyst and Software Engineer for the Geosciences node of NASA's Planetary Data System, where I was responsible for developing software that turned Mars mission data into stunning images of our solar system.

I was also a freelance multimedia specialist and Social Media Manager for RP Exotics, responsible for telling the stories of over $40 million of exotic vehicles via social media and print marketing.

At WashU, I am active in the African Students Association and am a Software Engineer for WashU Racing, and am looking to further enhance my leadership, software development, and data analysis skills.

STATEMENTS OF INTEREST
Software Development
A "day-in-the-life" of an entry-level software developer is dynamic and intellectually stimulating. It begins with collaboration, a skill that I continue to hone at Fabric. The day involves building and debugging with version control and pull requests. These are all aspects of the position that have become second nature to me when working with collaborative teams, like at WashU Racing or at Fabric. Continuous learning is a constant, reflecting the ever-changing tech industry.

My interest in software development stems from a deep fascination with storytelling through technology. Just as I used software to transform Mars mission data into images at NASA, I'm eager to leverage my technical skills to craft solutions that make a real impact on the world.

The ever-evolving nature of software development, which I witnessed firsthand in the fast-paced startup environment of Social Fabric, is incredibly motivating. This constant learning aligns perfectly with my desire for continuous improvement. Moreover, the collaborative nature of software development resonates with my experience leading a team at Social Fabric and working with WashU Racing.

My skills and strengths make me a strong candidate. My experience developing software at NASA and Social Fabric provides practical experience building and deploying real-world applications. My work with WashU Racing further demonstrates my teamwork and technical abilities. My data analysis experience coupled with my business analytics coursework gives me a well-rounded perspective. My leadership experience as a co-founder has honed my project management skills across multifaceted teams.

While I have a strong foundation, I'm not particularly versed in many backend development frameworks. However, I am actively gaining more experience in the FastAPI and PostgreSQL while at WashU Racing, which will serve to increase my knowledge of intensive backend frameworks.
Tech Marketing
A "day-in-the-life" of an entry-level tech marketer is an exciting mix of creativity and statistics, much like my marketing experiences at Fabric and RP Exotics. It involves understanding trends, crafting interesting stories, and grasping analytics. I honed these skills at RP Exotics, promoting $40 million worth of vehicles using tools Google Analytics and the Meta Business Suite. It also involves supporting product launches and collaborating with sales, processes that I have grown extremely familiar with at Fabric.

My passion for storytelling, rooted in my multicultural upbringing, fuels my interest in tech marketing. I've been marketing technology since I was old enough to convince my parents to buy a gaming PC. Successfully marketing exotic vehicles for RP Exotics also showcases my ability to understand and appeal to a specific niche. My software development experience also allows me to understand new technologies from a deeper perspective.

The fast-paced tech industry, which I experienced both at NASA and Social Fabric, is highly motivating. Seeing the direct impact of my marketing efforts, like building Social Fabric's user base or being credited for a 6-figure sale, is greatly satisfying.

My leadership experience as Head of Marketing at Social Fabric directly equips me for a tech marketing role. My success in this role demonstrates my ability to develop and execute marketing strategies, manage a team, and achieve measurable results. My social media and print marketing experience with RP Exotics honed my content creation and campaign management skills. My background in software development provides me with a deep understanding of tech.
